Ottawa St Laurent Jeep & Ram is pleased to announce that the all-new 3.6L Pentastar V6 eTorque has been named one of the industry’s ‘10 Best Engines’ for 2019 by the editors of WardsAuto.
Making its debut in the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 (DT), the 3.6L Pentastar V6 eTorque is rated at 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque with the eTorque system delivering up to 90-lb of supplemental torque. The eTorque system helps to improve fuel efficiency – without sacfificing horsepower, torque, or capability.
The 3.6L Pentastar V6 eTorque is mated to the next-generation TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission and delivers fuel economy as efficient as 11.9 L/100 (24 MPG) in city driving and 9.4 L/100 (30 MPG) on the highway. In 4×4 configurations, the city fuel efficiency rating is a 21% improvement and the combined rating is a 14% improvement compared to 3.6L Pentastar non-eTorque applications.

The eTorque mild-hybrid system replaces the traditional alternator on the engine with a belt-driven motor-generator unit that works with a 48-volt battery pack to enable improved fuel efficiency, drivability, performance, capacity, and payload.
The eTorque delivers seamless engine restarts by sending up to 90 lb-ft of supplemental torque to the crankshaft during stop-start maneuvers. In addition, eTorque also recaptures energy during deceleration and braking to charge the battery pack. The eTorque system also enhances the driving experience by adding torque to the crankshaft during gear changes to minimize noise, vibration, and harshness making gear changes even and smooth. With the new system, capability has been increased with the 3.6L Pentastar V6 eTorque delivering up to 1,043 kg (2,300 lbs) of payload and 3,506 kg (7,730 lbs) of towing.
The 3.6L Pentastar V6 eTorque is the standard on Tradesman and Bighorn models in all cab and drive configurations.
